The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) has taken a significant step in enhancing radiation safety by launching a state-of-the-art Thermoluminescent Dosimeter (TLD) lab at the institution from today. The newly established facility offers comprehensive whole-body bi-crystal dosimetry and finger ring dosimetry services, catering to internal and external radiation workers.
Authorised by the Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA), the TLD Lab ensures compliance with stringent national regulatory standards. This development not only bolsters NICVD”s diagnostic capabilities but also underscores its commitment to advancing radiation safety protocols.
The introduction of these dosimetry services marks a pivotal enhancement in the institute”s ability to monitor and protect workers from radiation exposure effectively. By providing precise and reliable dosimetry solutions, NICVD is setting a benchmark in occupational health and safety within the medical field.
As radiation use in medical diagnostics and treatment continues to rise, the role of such dedicated dosimetry labs becomes increasingly crucial. NICVD”s initiative is a noteworthy advancement in ensuring safety while maintaining high standards of medical care.
