A meeting regarding the security of the polio drive was held under the chairmanship of Additional IG Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, attended by DIG East, DIG South, district SSPs, and other officers.

In the meeting, Additional IG Javed Alam Odho instructed that all security measures during the polio campaign should be made effective and robust at the police station level to ensure the complete protection of the polio teams.

He further stated that random snap checking, picketing, patrolling, and strict monitoring of suspicious activities should be carried out to timely address any potential threats.

District SSPs were instructed to monitor security measures and directed the relevant SHOs to remain present in their areas to ensure cooperation with the teams under all circumstances.

The spokesperson for Karachi Police stated that the purpose of these instructions is to ensure the security of the teams during the polio campaign so that the drive can be successfully completed.
