The Meteorological Department reported on Wednesday that a severe cold wave persists in most parts of the country, with the temperature in Murree dropping to minus one degree Celsius. The weather is forecast to remain intensely cold and dry in most areas of the country.
In the mountainous regions, the weather is expected to be severely cold with partly cloudy skies.
This morning, the temperatures recorded in several major urban centers reflected the cold spell. The capital, Islamabad, and Peshawar both recorded seven degrees Celsius.
Quetta had a minimum temperature of five degrees Celsius, while Gilgit and Muzaffarabad were colder at three degrees. Conditions were slightly better in Lahore and Karachi, where temperatures were recorded at fourteen and eighteen degrees Celsius, respectively.
According to the weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramulla are expected to experience very cold and partly cloudy weather.
In Jammu, the weather is predicted to be cold and dry.
