The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast today that Sindh and Southern Balochistan are expecting intense heat conditions, as the country generally experiences hot and dry weather.
Contrary to the expected intense heat in the southern parts, there are chances of strong winds and rain with thunder in the areas of Upper Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Potohar with partly cloudy conditions.
In major cities, there are varied temperature patterns in the morning: a mild 19 degrees Celsius in Islamabad, a warm 26 degrees Celsius in Lahore, while Karachi experienced a relatively higher morning temperature of 29 degrees Celsius. Peshawar noted 22 degrees Celsius, while both Quetta and Muzaffarabad recorded 18 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the temperature at the hilly location of Murree remained a cool 13 degrees Celsius.
Residents of the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions against the intense heat, especially in Sindh and Southern Balochistan, where the rising temperatures could pose health risks. Conversely, those living in the northern areas should be prepared for potential rain and strong winds.
