Interior Minister directs Islamabad Police to ensure law, order situation in federal capital

Islamabad, January 10, 2021 (PPI-OT): Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has directed Islamabad Police to ensure law and order situation in the federal capital saying that professional failure and corrupt practices will not be tolerated. He was talking to newly appointed Inspector General of federal capital’s Police Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman in Islamabad today (Sunday). The meeting discussed the law and order situation and professional matters. He also congratulates IG Islamabad on assuming his charge.

The Minister termed the killing of Osama Satti by the police as a tragic incident and said there is no room for such accidents in the future. He said the Capital Police Force should be professionalized. He said that new vehicles and motorcycles are being procured for ICT Police to improve security situation of the city. He said Islamabad Police will also be provided residential facilities and their perks will be increased. The IG briefed the Interior Minister on police reform.
