Interior Ministry Tightens Passport Regulations to Curb Illegal Immigration

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that all legal protocols must be expedited to establish new passport conditions aimed at preventing beggars from traveling abroad and reducing illegal immigration.

This directive emerged from a key meeting presided over by Naqvi during his visit to the immigration and passports directorate here today.

The session featured participation from prominent officials including Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Secretary Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha, DG FIA Rafat Mukhtar Raja, and DG Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi.

Naqvi emphasized the necessity for full enforcement of the directive to block passports of deported individuals.

During the visit, the minister examined the newly installed passport machinery, consisting of six MRP and two E-Passport machines, and engaged with the German team responsible for their installation. He noted that these advancements will enhance the passport office”s efficiency and expedite passport issuance.

Talal Chaudhry highlighted that this move would project a constructive image to the international community.

Additionally, DG Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi, during a briefing, revealed plans to launch a mobile application to facilitate citizen access to passport services.
