London, November 02, 2019 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s High Commissioner to United Kingdom (UK), Mohammad Nafees Zakaria has said that the world community particularly members of civil society, media, and parliamentarians have rebuffed the Indian claims of normality in occupied Kashmir.
Mohammad Nafees Zakaria was addressing a gathering at the High Commission to express solidarity with the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir in the aftermath of Indian government’s unilateral illegal measures to change the status of Kashmir and dividing it into two union territories.
Indian atrocities, mass killings, mass blinding, mass graves and other measures to systematically change the demography of the territory have been documented, the High Commissioner said while hoping that justice to the victims would be delivered and perpetrators would be punished. India’s efforts to hide its crimes against humanity and the ongoing humanitarian crisis have been exposed by the reports filed by the human rights organisations and international media, he added.
Nafees Zakaria said, Pakistan has rejected the division of occupied Kashmir as it is in complete violation of the UN Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreements between India and Pakistan, especially the Simla Agreement.
He also updated the audience and media on current situation under Indian siege and the plight of the Kashmiris in the occupied territory. He urged the attendees to keep the Kashmiri people in their thoughts and prayers and keep reminding the world about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in occupied Kashmir.
A large number of Pakistani community members, friends of Pakistan from other communities and media persons were apprised of the plight of people of occupied Kashmir. On the occasion, photos depicting Indian atrocities against the Kashmiris were also displayed. The photos of the victims of Indian atrocities, documented by various international institutions, and Indian measures to change the demography, helped visitors understand the magnitude of the rights abuses in occupied Kashmir.
