The head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Dr. Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, has said that Iran, in the Strait of Hormuz, has “crushed the arrogance” of the technologically advanced America and Israel, and that the Iranian strategy has written a new chapter in history.
Addressing a ceremony at Jamia Masjid Bilal today, the leader urged the international community to pay attention to the conditions presented by Iran for establishing peace in the region and demanded the United Nations to play an effective role in paving the way for a peaceful solution.
He said that the problems faced by the Islamic world and the ongoing tension in the Middle East are major challenges for the Muslim Ummah. He claimed that if Muslim countries resolve their mutual differences and unite, then with the help of Allah, “the forces of disbelief can be defeated”.
Dr. Zubair emphasized that global challenges can be overcome only by following the teachings of the Quran, which he described as a complete code of life and a source of guidance that can open the doors of success for Muslims.
Turning to domestic issues, he condemned the ongoing “storm of inflation” in the country. He said that the continuous increase in the prices of gas, electricity, and petrol has put the common citizen in severe difficulties, and the price hikes before Eid have dampened the joys of the poor.
He demanded that the country’s rulers reduce their lavish expenditures and take practical steps to provide relief to the public.
The religious leader also commented that the Pak-Afghan war is not in the country’s interest and that India has “unleashed oppression and barbarism” in Kashmir.
He recalled that Pakistan was established on the 27th of Ramadan after the martyrdom of two million Muslims, and during the 1977 Tehreek-e-Nizam-e-Mustafa, the lovers of the Prophet (peace be upon him) made great sacrifices. He reiterated the commitment that the struggle for the implementation of Nizam-e-Mustafa in Pakistan will continue.
The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for the security of the country, the unity of the Ummah, and the stability of Pakistan and the Islamic world.
