On the demise of renowned parliamentarian, intellectual, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Mayor Sukkur and Sindh Government Spokesperson Barrister Arsalan Islam Sheikh expressed deep sorrow, calling it a great loss for the nation.
In a statement on Tuesday, Barrister Sheikh, who is also the spokesperson for the Sindh Government, paid tribute to Senator Siddiqui, saying that he was a personality who set a distinguished example in the fields of politics, journalism, and knowledge and literature with his deep insight, integrity, and intelligence.
The Mayor emphasized that the late Senator’s literary writings, public speeches, and parliamentary discourse are a valuable asset of national history, which will prove to be a lasting source of guidance.
He further added that Irfan Siddiqui, through his character, civility, and constructive attitude, established a tradition of transforming disagreement into meaningful dialogue, which is a guiding light for current politics.
At the end of his tribute, Barrister Sheikh prayed for the soul of the deceased and prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the deceased a high place in His mercy and to grant the bereaved family beautiful patience.
