In a major operation against illegal indoor sheesha cafés, the district administration of the federal capital has launched a city-wide crackdown on the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon.
Assistant Commissioner (AC) City, Maheen Hassan, led operations in sectors F-6, F-7, and E-7, on Saturday resulted in the sealing of seven cafés and the arrest of seven individuals. During the raids, law enforcement teams confiscated sheesha equipment and flavored tobacco.
These actions were taken in response to violations of court orders prohibiting indoor sheesha smoking. The DC Islamabad has instructed all assistant commissioners to ensure strict enforcement against such establishments within their respective jurisdictions.
He further warned that any area found to have operational indoor sheesha cafés would lead to action against the responsible officials.
