In a decisive move against illegal indoor shisha cafes, the District Administration Islamabad has launched a citywide crackdown, ordering indiscriminate action and sealing of unauthorized establishments.
The campaign comes in response to directives issued by the Islamabad High Court. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, has directed all Assistant Commissioners to take strict action against indoor shisha setups, stating that any such café found operational will be permanently sealed.
Legal cases will also be filed against café owners and customers found at the premises during operations. ‘In case of any indoor shisha café found open in any locality, the concerned official will face disciplinary action,’ DC Memon warned.
Two illegal indoor shisha cafés in Sector F-6 and one in B-17 have already been sealed during recent operations. Citizens have been urged to refrain from visiting indoor shisha cafes, as those present at the scene during raids will also be taken into custody.
