In a historic decision, the Additional Sessions Court of Okara today sentenced a person named Shabbir, who was found guilty of the heinous crimes of murder and rape, to death twice. The court further imposed a fine of 800,000 rupees on Shabbir for his grave crimes.
Co-accused Sonia and Shahbaz were also brought to justice, receiving a sentence of seven years in prison and a fine of 100,000 rupees each under Section 201. These sentences were pronounced by Additional Sessions Judge Rana Khalil Ahmad Khan, reflecting their criminal steadfastness after a full trial.
If the fines are not paid, the convicts will have to spend an additional six months in jail.
This case, which focused on the tragic incident of Shabbir’s rape and murder of his daughter, remained the center of social attention. The sentence has been praised as a testament to the efforts of law enforcement authorities and legal teams.
The District Police Officer awarded commendation certificates to Investigative Officer Lady Sub-Inspector Azmat Naseem and the legal team for their outstanding performance in bringing the convicts to justice.
