Islamabad court approves Imran’s interim bail

ISLAMABAD: A local court in Islamabad on Thursday allowed interim bail to PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan in a case pertaining to hurling threat to female judge Zeba Chaudhry.

Issuing a notice to police for the next hearing which is October 13, Judge Kamran Basharat Mufti asked Imran Khan to submit a surety bond of Rs50,000. During the proceedings, Khan’s lawyer Babar Awan told the court about the case and said that his client was also present in the court.

On judge’s inquiry whether this was the first bail application, Awan replied affirmative. He also informed the judge that another case against Khan is listed in the court for October 13, after which the judge adjourned the hearing until the same date. Security arrangements were beefed up around the court for the hearing of the case.
