Islamabad Traffic Police issued a special traffic plan on Wednesday, anticipating potential congestion due to the transit of a foreign delegation. The notice warns residents of temporary road closures on major thoroughfares.

Between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., traffic on the Expressway and Srinagar Highway is expected to be impacted. Commuters are encouraged to utilize service roads and alternative routes. These include the H-8 underpass for access to Blue Area, F-6 and F-7 sectors; and Margalla Road, Jinnah Avenue, Ayub Chowk, and NADRA Chowk for reaching the Red Zone and Serena Hotel.

Individuals traveling towards Bari Imam should use NADRA Chowk, while those heading to sectors I and H are advised to utilize Rawalpindi-Peshawar Road and IJP Road. Access from Murree Road to Serena Hotel and Faizabad via Rawal Dam will be temporarily restricted during the delegation’s movement.

Chief Traffic Officer Capt. (R) Hamza Humayun requested the public to add a 20-minute cushion to their travel time and consult the ITP helpline 1915 or social media for updates. He confirmed that traffic officers will be stationed at strategic points to assist drivers.
