Prominent Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh member and former Emir of Qambar City, Abdul Majeed Soomro, passed away on Monday at the age of 85. Soomro had been undergoing dialysis due to a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife, seven sons, and five daughters.
Soomro was a well-known figure in Qambar City, recognized for his involvement in local affairs and his affiliation with Jamaat-e-Islami. A skilled orator and teacher, he held the party’s top position in Qambar City three times and also served as the deputy Emir of Qambar-Shahdadkot district. He also participated in various local and national elections.
Several high-ranking Jamaat-e-Islami officials, including Kashif Saeed Shaikh, Asadullah Bhutto, and Mujahid Chana, expressed their condolences.
