According to a major statement by Jamaat-e-Islami, the scarcity of basic facilities and growing public issues are rapidly becoming a significant challenge for citizens. Expressing these concerns, the party’s Deputy General Secretary in Sindh, Abdul Quddus Ahmadani, addressed a gathering of the nationwide membership campaign in Tando Muhammad Khan.
Jamaat-e-Islami’s nationwide membership campaign continues from Karachi to Kashmore under the title “Change the System.”
This campaign is designed to involve citizens in the governmental process and will continue until mid-May, with membership camps established in major urban centers. This campaign reflects Jamaat-e-Islami’s strategic intent to end the 77-year colonial and exploitative system.
Alongside the membership effort, a protest was held in Tando Muhammad Khan under the leadership of District Ameer Hafiz Lal Muhammad Solangi and local Ameer Pir Muslim Jan Sarhandi. Protestors expressed their discontent against the unfair levy tax on petrol, widespread lack of rule of law, and persistent energy shortages, as well as protested against other important issues such as the closure of cattle markets and sugar factories.
Several political and social leaders, including Pir Ahmed Saeed Jan Sarhandi and Dr. G.M. Gul, addressed the gathering, advocating for immediate reforms and demanding the government end baseless allegations against social and political figures. Protestors demanded a reduction in petrol prices and the removal of the controversial levy tax.
Various political and social figures also attended the membership camp, pledging their support for the campaign, highlighting the importance of public awareness and the urgent need for action to effectively address citizens’ issues.
