Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz’s protest rally in Naseerabad for water scarcity and recovery of abducted girls

Organized by Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), a rally today drew attention to two major issues in Sindh: acute agricultural water shortage and the disappearance of young girls, with a particular focus on the case of Priya Kumari.

This demonstration, led by leaders like Bashir Baghi and Ghulam Mustafa Masan, began at Shaheed Bashir Khan Qureshi Chowk and concluded at Sachal Press Club in Naseerabad. Participants expressed their grievances as they crossed multiple intersections, stating they are against the authorities’ deliberate policies harming Sindh’s agriculture.

Addressing the gathered journalists, the leaders accused governmental institutions of apathy and deliberate negligence, resulting in significant hardships for poor farmers. Activists alleged that the actions of the authorities are deliberately designed to destroy the area’s vital agricultural sector.

Alongside the water crisis, JSQM leaders also addressed the issue of missing girls, highlighting the case of Priya Kumari. They criticized the Sindh and federal governments for their inaction and lack of empathy regarding these disappearances.

Protesters demanded immediate intervention to resolve the water shortage and ensure the safe return of all missing girls in Sindh. They warned that ignoring their demands could intensify the protest movement across the region.
