JKML condemns continued illegal detention of Yusuf Mir

Srinagar, July 16, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Abdul Ahad Parra, has strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of the party Vice Chairman Muhammad Yousuf Mir under the black law Public Safety Act for the past five years.

Abdul Ahad Parra in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Muhammad Yousuf Mir was first imprisoned in the Indian state of Haryana under the PSA and when his detention period expired. However, he said that instead of releasing the JKML leader, he was shifted to Shopian police station. He said that a week later he was shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu region overnight in another false case. He said that the family of Muhammad Yusuf Mir was not allowed to meet him while he was detained in Shopian. Abdul Ahad Parra said the detained leader has developed various ailments due to continuous detention. He appealed to the international human rights organizations to play role in the release Muhammad Yousuf Mir and other Kashmiri detainees.
