JRL asks world to stop Indian aggression in IOK

Srinagar, June 28, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) while condemning the oppressive measures unleashed by Indian and its stooges against the Kashmir people has asked the international community to intervene and stop New Delhi’s aggression in the territory.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “We want to urge UN Human Rights Council that is in session these days to intervene and stop ongoing genocide of Kashmiris by Indian forces and other oppressive measures employed by New Delhi to suppress peaceful resistance of the Kashmiris.”

The leaders maintained that the Kashmiris were being killed, maimed, jailed, tortured, humiliated and denied their birth right of freedom and right to self-determination. “Blood of innocents is being spilled by Indian forces callously in Kashmir,” the JRL deplored.

“Oppression unleashed against Kashmiris in the name of crackdowns, killings, spree of arrests by National Investigation Agency (NIA), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and other oppressive, measures will yield India nothing but failure,” the statement added.

“The ongoing slaughter of Kashmiris by trigger-happy Indian forces, crackdown during which common people without discrimination of age and gender are beaten, tortured and humiliated especially in southern districts of Kashmir, vandalising, blasting and burning down of private properties, spree of arrests and fresh use of NIA, ED and other agencies to intimidate and suppress peaceful resistance are all manifestation of anti-democratic and colonial behaviour of Indian rulers who through these harsh measures intend to defeat Kashmiri resistance,” the JRL said.

The leadership said that Indian leadership, its local supporters and biased media had launched a smear campaign against resistance leadership and had been using NIA and ED to suppress it”. “But all their efforts failed to defeat the valour of Kashmiris who refused to surrender before the Indian military might,” the leaders said.

“Now once again NIA and ED intimidation has been started and a fresh FIR by NIA has been filed against ailing Aasiya Andrabi who is already in jail for the last many months. This is nothing but a frustrated effort to defeat Kashmiri resistance and it will yield nothing but another failure to the oppressors,” the statement said, asking the international community to intervene and stop “Indian aggression on Kashmiris”.
