K-Electric claims no electrocutions from its infrastructure

Karachi, August 26, 2020 (PPI-OT): K-Electric on Wednesday expressed grief over the electrocution incidents reported from Karachi through local press during the ongoing monsoon rain spell and claimed that. In a statement, the power company said that as a caring corporate entity, it had been regularly raising precautionary and safety messages about rains for wellbeing of the citizens. The organization, however, shared its utmost concerns over the four electrocution incidents reported on 25 August. “All these reported incidents occurred due to damaged wires inside premises, and streetlight pole,” the KE claimed.

According to details available an electrocution incident from inside factory was reported from Haroonabad area. In another incident, a man got electrocuted while fixing a lightbulb inside his home in Gulbahar Khamosh Colony. An incident from Pakistan Chowk involved a streetlight pole that fell under the ambit of the city administration. In another incident from Gulberg Block 12, report suggested that the deceased was working on wiring inside his home.

KE has reiterated that the safety of human life remains the topmost priority of the company and on this account the power utility has been urging citizens to maintain a safe distance from power infrastructure through safety awareness messages.
