K-Electric has restored power to the North East Karachi pumping station after a three-day shutdown, ending a severe water shortage in the city. The Water Corporation confirmed that the power company reconnected the station to the grid at 4 am on September 14 after completing cable repairs. This restoration came after a 67-hour long shutdown that began at 9 am on September 11.
This prolonged shutdown resulted in a shortage of approximately 222.8 million gallons of water. With the restoration of power, normal water supply has resumed across Karachi.
