Karachi by-election: Imran Khan’s nomination papers accepted

KARACHI: The nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and candidate from NA-237 Karachi by-elections were accepted on Tuesday.

According to a report, the rival candidates have made some objections to the candidature of Imran Khan which was rejected by the Election Commission. Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) covering candidate from the constituency Arshad Ali filed objections against Imran Khan as contester from PTI.

The PPP covering candidate raised some objections before the Returning Officer (RO) like Imran Khan has not mentioned the accounts in the foreign funding case. The RO also heard the arguments from the representative of Khan and reserved the decision on the matter. After three hours, he announced the reserved decision of the case and approved the name of the PTI candidate to contest the by-election from NA-237.
