LAHORE: Administrator Karachi, Sindh Government Spokesperson and CM Advisor on Law Barrister Murtaza Barrister Murtaza Wahab, was received by senior directors on his arrival at KMC headquarters on Monday as he was presented with flowers.
On the occasion, Municipal Commissioner KMC Syed Afzal Zaidi and other officers were also present. Administrator Karachi said that he was grateful for cooperation of KMC officers and staff to carry out local government affairs in a better way.
“As before we all will continue to serve the city together. Karachi is our city and we have to make our city better,” he added. The Administrator Karachi said that it is the first priority to make KMC an active institution in terms of serving the citizens, for which a strategy has been decided.
He said that revenue is essential for the efficient running of any institution, therefore all possible steps will continue to be taken to recover municipal utility tax, a major source of revenue for KMC. “In the coming days, the infrastructure of Karachi has to be improved by developing it. The responsibilities of KMC include maintenance of roads and ateries, parks and playgrounds, cleaning of drains, spraying of disinfectants, Barrister Murtaza Wahab said.
He said that we have to ensure that better municipal services are provided to the citizens and more facilities are available to them. He directed the departmental heads to carry out daily affairs through mutual communication and wherever any obstacle comes, it should be removed immediately. He said that for the construction and development of the city, the KMC will continue to play its key role.
Later, Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab along with Municipal Commissioner KMC Syed Afzal Zaidi visited the newly renovated Council Hall at KMC Head Office and inspected the work done there. He expressed satisfaction that the KMC council hall is now in a better condition and will facilitate the upcoming council. The Administrator also spoke to concerned officers and gave necessary instructions.
