LARKANA: After 15 long years of rule, Sindh Government finally realized the regularization of Kachi Abadis (Slum area).
In this connection, Shafique Ahmed Mahesar, Secretary, Kachi Abadis presided over a meeting at Commissioner’s office Thursday and directed to regularize katchi abadis expeditiously with provision of all required facilities.
He told the participants that it is the policy of the Sindh government to regularize katchi abadis with provision of all required facilities.in Sindh for which District Coordination Committees have been constituted under the chairmanship of relevant deputy commissioners who will eliminate hurdles which may come in their regularization and officers have been directed to come in contact with them.
He said government land if not on Form-VII it will not be considered as Katchi Abadi and DCs have the right to give government land for such abadis for which Committees have been made full-fledged. He said the same job is to be completed within two to three months for which the relevant officers will have to work hard.
He said Katchi Abadies will be surveyed at the very outset and they will be regularized after notification. Mahesar directed his Regional Directors to address their issues after meeting with the relevant DCs of the Larkana division. He said we need work for which officers will have to make their own strategy. He said that first Katchi Abadi should be notified at the very beginning and then it should be notified. He asked them to make sure to separate clear and confused cases and then resolve them because our job is to give relief to the masses.
On this occasion, Commissioner, Larkana Division, Ghanwar Ali Laghari said that all the five DCs of Larkana Division will fully cooperate with the slum department in this regard. Soon a meeting will be called at the division level and the task will be given to them, he added. He said that many issues will be resolved after forming committees headed by DCs. Their presence in the committees will be beneficial, slum department officials should contact them and they will help them fully. DC Rabiya Siyal, Katchi Abadi Regional Director and other relevant officers attended the meeting.
