KARACHI: A noted businessman of the country, Chela Ram Kewlani, was elected unopposed as the Chairman of Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), says a statement issued on Tuesday.
Mr Kewlani is also the owner of KK Rice Mills Pvt. Ltd, which is among top 100 companies of Pakistan. Besides having a great expertise in rice trading, be it politics or social activities along with trade, He is the first in every field.
In the past, Mr Kewlani was the senior vice chairman of REAP and president of the Pakistan Hindu Council. A present, he is serving as the chairman of the National Minority Commission of Pakistan in the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
While speaking with the journalists community, Mr Kewlani said that he was proud of being a citizen of Pakistan. “Today, I am grateful to all those people, my family, friends, relatives, all my REAP members, and my supporters, because of their prayers and support, God has given me this position and honor,” he maintained. The rice export industry is the second largest industry in Pakistan which will play a valuable role in the economic development of Pakistan, he concluded.
