Key Change in New Zealand Squad: Latham Out, Bracewell to Lead Against Pakistan —-

New Zealand’s cricket team will face Pakistan in the upcoming ODI series without Tom Latham, who has been sidelined due to a fractured hand sustained during practice. Michael Bracewell will continue his leadership role following the T20I series, stepping in to captain the team in Latham’s absence.

Henry Nicholls has been summoned to fill Latham’s spot, with Rhys Mariu joining as batting cover. Additionally, Will Young will exit the squad after the first match to be present for the birth of his second child. Mitch Hay will assume wicketkeeping duties.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead highlighted the challenges of player availability but emphasized the opportunities it creates. He expressed optimism about the inclusion of Mariu and the return of Nicholls, who has shown strong form following his recovery from injury.

The ODI series kicks off in Napier on Saturday, marking Bracewell’s debut as captain in this format after successfully leading the team in the T20I series against Pakistan.
