Deliberations on a proposed 27th amendment to the Constitution were the central focus of high-level meetings between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and leaders of allied parties in the capital today.
A four-member delegation of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, headed by Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain, met with the prime minister to hold consultations on the prospective constitutional change.
The PML-Q group also included Senator Kamil Ali Agha and Members of the National Assembly Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas and Farrukh Khan.
In a separate engagement, the prime minister also conferred with representatives of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party. The talks with IPP President and Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, and Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis, Aun Chaudhry, also revolved around the same constitutional amendment proposal.
