Large quantity of drugs seized in Karachi and other parts of country

KARACHI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Saturday claimed to have arrested four suspects and seized a large quantity of drugs during operations in different cities.

According to ANF, during another operation at a private courier office at Karachi International Airport, 780 grams of drugs were recovered from a parcel sent to Australia.

ANF also recovered 900 grams of ice from a parcel during checking at Friendship Gate check post in Chaman and 15 kg of heroin hidden in bushes near Quetta Western Bypass.

The ANF recovered 100 intoxicating pills from two suspects, who were residents of Peshawar, in a raid at Misrial Road in Rawalpindi, and also 144 kg of hashish and 30 kg of opium were recovered from a car near Wali interchange in Nowshera. The suspect was arrested and he also belonged to Peshawar.

In another operation near Torkham border Nadra Chowk, a total of 65,000 intoxicating tablets were seized, which had been kept inside plastic bags, adding that, ANF and FC in joint operations seized 13 kg of hashish in Khyber and 2400 intoxicating pills from the bag of a suspect, who has been arrested, going to Colombo from Karachi International Airport.

Cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been registered against the arrested suspects.
