Larkana’s LB electioneering in full swing

LARKANA: Canvassing for votes during the upcoming local bodies elections scheduled to be held on 26th June has entered in full swing in entire Larkana and Kambar Shahdadkot districts and nearby areas as candidates of PPP, Larkana Awami Ittehad (LAI), PTI, PPP-SB and independents are contesting vigorously

Dr. Safdar Abbasi, secretary general, GDA and a central leader of LAI is busy in holding corner meetings in Kambar-Shahdadkot, JUI-F’s provincial secretary general Maulana Rashid Mahmood Soomro and his brother Maulana Nasir Mahmood Soomro are trying hard to win hearts of the residents of Larkana and Jameel Soomro and others of PPP are trying to get support of the citizens of Bhutto’s home district after suffering defeat at the hands of LAI candidate Moazim Ali Abbasi on PS-11 byelection for MPA.

PPP Candidate for the post of Chairman for UC-2 Hyderi Town Munir Ahmed Soomro, elder brother of Jameel Soomro, political secretary to the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that after restoration of five nomination forms by Sindh High Court of their opposite candidates tough contest is expected on these five seats but he added that PPP will win 16 union committees out of 20 in Larkana city. He said previously he was elected unopposed but now he will contest the election as nomination forms of five contestants were rejected by the ROs before. He said the campaign for seeking votes is in full swing and corner meetings are being held by them.

In Naundero as well, Anwer Ali Buriro, PPP candidate for the post of Chairman, Municipal Committee, continued his canvassing and visited Shopkeepers in Shahi Bazaar along with his party activists. Likewise, PPP-SB candidates led by Ghulam Hyder Narejo also visited every shopkeeper requesting for vote.

Asked as to why PPP candidates are campaigning for votes in the hometown of Bhutto leaders as they have been in power since the past 15 years and claiming massive development in Sindh, Narejo said that PPP has done nothing for Naundero not to speak of Sindh.

He said in 2008 Asif Ali Zardari made a commitment that industries will be established here to end unemployment and poverty, a modern hospital will be established along with a maternity home so that women could be able to get all medical facilities here and the town will be made a model town but nothing has been done since past 15 years hence they have to convince residents to vote for them. He said no uplift works have been carried out due to which overflowing sewerage drains and non-lifting of garbage have made the lives of the citizens extremely worrisome.
