Shah Abdul Latif University has announced the recipients of this year’s “Best Teacher” and “Best Researcher” awards, with Dr. Javed Ahmed Ujjan securing both top honors at the university level and a cash prize of one hundred thousand rupees.
The decision was finalized in a high-level committee meeting held today to recognize the outstanding contributions of the academic staff.
At the faculty level, two teachers were selected for the “Best Teacher” award. Professor Dr. Samina Rajpar from the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Keerio from the Faculty of Arts and Languages will each receive a cash prize of fifty thousand rupees.
In further recognition of academic contributions, Dr. Jamshaid Ali was named “Best Researcher” for the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The Vice-Chancellor, Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk, who presided over the meeting, approved the recommendations. He stated that such recognition schemes motivate faculty to adopt best practices in teaching and research and help in securing additional funding for the institution.
The meeting, chaired by Convener Professor Dr. Wahid Bux Jatoi, was attended by Deans Professor Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Professor Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Ali Jakhrani, Professor Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, and Professor Dr. Liaquat Ali Chandio.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Abdul Rahman Bhatti from the Faculty of Law, along with representatives from the Quality Enhancement Cell, Directorate of Postgraduate Studies, and the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC). The Deputy Registrar (Teaching) conducted the proceedings of the meeting.
