Islamabad, April 18, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Islamic World is on the verge of a revolution. This was stated by Secretary General, World Muslim Congress and Leader of the Opposition, Senator Raja Zafar-ul-Haq while meeting the participants of the 28th International HRD Program at the World Muslim Congress Office in Islamabad.
Stressing the need for promoting a conducive environment for all, Senator Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq said that this can only be achieved by giving religious minorities respect. He quoted the example of Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Arden and said that all countries must follow this human friendly gesture.
Senator Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq said that 45 percent of the world’s Muslim population resides in non-Muslim countries and that they can serve Islam by setting an example through their lives of being a good law abiding citizen. He elaborated upon the aims and objectives of establishing the World Muslim Congress and spoke about its magnificent history and tradition.
He said that the concept of this organization was initiated by Shah Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia in 1926. In 1931, this idea was realized at the meeting of the Organization of Islamic States (OIC) under the leadership of the Grand Mufti of Palestine, Alhaj Amin Al Hussaini, who was also nominated president of the World Muslim Congress. Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Syed Al Lao Ba Pasha were nominated Vice Presidents. The constitution and law for the World Muslim Congress were laid at this OIC session.
Stressing the need for world peace, Senator Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq said that this cannot be achieved without resolving the issue of Palestine and Kashmir. Senator Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq stressed the need for Muslim nations to set aside their differences, so that issues plaguing the Islamic world are resolved.
The delegation participating in the meeting today represented 11 Muslim Minority countries including Cuba, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka and Myanmar.
