A new three-year strategic partnership between the Lahore School of Economics and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) aims to address critical impediments to Pakistan”s economic progress through targeted research and policy analysis. The collaboration will concentrate on key areas including the productivity of firms, urban functionality, access to energy, and the effectiveness of the state.

According to a statement today, the alliance was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on October 15, 2025, in connection with the International Growth Centre (IGC), a prominent research body.

This accord establishes a framework for joint analytical studies designed to inform the development and implementation of effective economic policies within the country.

The agreement was endorsed by Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry, Rector of the Lahore-based institution, and Mr. Sajid Faiz Malik, the Country Economist for IGC Pakistan.
