Legendary politician Mumtaz Bhutto laid to rest in native soil

LARKANA: Hundreds of political, religious leaders, workers, followers and people from different walks of life participated in the funeral prayer of veteran politician and PTI leader Sardar Mumtaz Ali Bhutto at Mirpur Bhutto near here on Monday after which he was laid to rest amid tears at a tomb built by him during his lifetime. His funeral prayer was led by his son-in-law Ghulam Qadir Shah Jamote of Matiari.

Earlier his body was shifted from Karachi to his native village Mirpur Bhutto in an ambulance which was received at Dhamrah Wah by people of Larkana. His younger son Ali Haider Bhutto accompanied the deceased.

Those who attended the funeral prayer include Junior Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Ali Gohar Mahar, Ghous Bux Bux Mahar, Mir Mithal Talpur, MPA Muhammad Aslam Abro, Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro, Dr. Safdar Ali Abbasi, Moazim Ali Abbasi, Syed Hassan Mahmood Shah Amroti, Raees Abdul Nabi Jamali, Dr. Syed Zia Shah, Dr. Rustom Bhutto, Azhar Kamario, Aslam Abro and others.

Strict security arrangements were made on the occasion as all participants were allowed to go inside after physical checking. SOPs were also strictly followed to prevent spread of deadly coronavirus. Bhutto left behind two sons Ameer Baksh Bhutto and Ali Haider Bhutto, two daughters and a widow to mourn his death along with thousands of his followers and activists.

His soyem will be held tomorrow on Tuesday at 11 am after Quran Khuwani. Free food will also be distributed among the poor. Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also expressed his grief over the demise of Mumtaz Ali Bhutto. In a WhatsApp message circulated among journalists by Bilawal House Media Cell, Bilawal prayed to Almighty Allah to give him eternal peace and offered condolences with the bereaved family.
