KARACHI:Director General Audit Local Government Qadir Bakhsh Baloch called on Governor Sindh Imran Ismail at Governor House on Tuesday.
The Director General Audit Local Governments presented the audit report of the Local Government Department for the year 2020-21 to the Governor Sindh and apprised him in detail of the relevant steps. On this occasion, Governor Sindh said that the government can provide immediate relief to the people through the Local Government Department as public health and hygiene matters are being carried out by the department. Therefore, the audit system must ensure transparency in the institution.
He directed the Director General of Audit to ensure that the audit process is conducted without any discrimination and pressure on the institution as timely detection of any loophole and defect are tantamount to protection from any major loss. He said that audit department was of key importance for eradication of corruption in the province and there was a need to make it more active and viable.
The Director General Audit of Local Governments informed the Governor of Sindh that the Audit Department headed by Auditor General of Pakistan Javed Jahangir is discharging its responsibilities with full dedication and the funds of the Local Government Department are being audited without any discrimination. He informed the Governor Sindh that steps are being taken in the department as per the laid down procedure and relevant rules and regulations.
