Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences is set to undergo a comprehensive digital overhaul of its core academic, assessment, and clinical training functions following the signing of a significant agreement with an Australian technology firm.
The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Ikram Din Ujjan, finalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nasir Husain, the Managing Director of Australia-based JAM.web Services Pty Ltd, to initiate the partnership, according to the university statement today.
The collaborative effort, titled the Digital Transformation and System Integration (DTASI) project, will involve the creation of four distinct platforms. These include the Prime SIM (Student Information and Management System), Prime LETS (Learning and Training System), Prime Med Grad (Examination System), and a Graduate Assessment module.
Professor Dr. Ikram Din Ujjan stated that the objective of the programme is to modernise the institution”s educational and administrative processes. The transformation is designed to enhance data accuracy, introduce automated reporting, and establish a robust platform to support the university”s future expansion.
A key aspect of the new framework is faculty automation, which will streamline procedures such as student registration, learning management, and examinations. The system will also facilitate the development of detailed faculty profiles.
Furthermore, the initiative will introduce a portal for parental access, allowing guardians to monitor their child”s academic records. This feature will provide insight into attendance, examination results, and overall student performance.
The new integrated system is being developed to be scalable, which will enable other educational institutions to potentially adopt the platform in the future. This strategic initiative is anticipated to boost operational efficiency and enrich the educational experience for students, faculty, and parents.
