Local – [Government, Public Safety] – Lahore declared ‘safest city’ in international reports: Punjab Information Minister

Information Minister Azma Bukhari claimed on Saturday that Lahore has been declared the safest city, citing its remarkably low crime rate compared to other global metropolitan cities.

According to the minister, the declaration is based on reports from major world cities, including London and New York, which have highlighted a successful reduction in criminal activities within the provincial capital.

Azma Bukhari made these remarks during an update on provincial affairs, where she linked the city’s improved safety to the eradication of drug smuggling and broader government efforts to enhance the law and order situation throughout Punjab.

She further confirmed that all public welfare programs announced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif are currently being implemented and are proceeding as planned.

“It is not the case that any project will be initiated or is yet to be started; I have all the updates from the inception of all the projects to date,” Azma Bukhari affirmed, emphasizing that all government schemes are actively underway.
