Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has taken a significant step in the ongoing land ownership dispute of Hill Park by contacting the Federal Secretary Housing today for comprehensive verification of land titles and records.
This investigation pertains to a disputed plot that is notably absent from the 1959 master plan of PECHS. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) states that all amenity land and public properties within Hill Park fall under its jurisdiction, contrary to the society’s claim.
In his correspondence, Mayor Wahab has demanded a detailed examination of all documents related to plot number 6/39-G-4, Block 6. This includes certified copies of allotment orders, lease documents, and approved layout plans.
A crucial aspect of this investigation is to define the legal status and ownership basis of the 500-yard plot in question. The Mayor has emphasized the need to present all relevant records related to Hill Park’s land transparently to the public.
This move hopes to clarify the legal status of the society’s title document, which does not meet current legal requirements, and potentially progresses the effort to pave the way for dispute resolution.
