Pakistan’s progressive and revolutionary ideological leader, Comrade Ahmed Hafiz Jamal, passed away this morning. He had been ill for a long time. A great void has been created in the country’s labor and workers’ rights movements.
A staunch revolutionary and ideological leader, Comrade Hafiz Jamal dedicated his entire life to the promotion of progressive principles. He was considered a lifelong ideological teacher and a strong ally of the working class.
His absence will be keenly felt in several important organizations. According to a statement by Nasir Mansoor, General Secretary of the National Trade Union Federation Pakistan (NTUF), the federation, the Home-Based Women Workers Federation, the youth organization Alternate, and the Urban People’s Front have lost a sincere colleague and a principled leader.
The broader progressive revolutionary struggle in Pakistan has lost one of its most steadfast voices. Comrades and followers paid tribute to him, offering a “Red Salute to Comrade Ahmed Hafiz Jamal” in recognition of his lifelong commitment to the cause.
