Long march date to be given next Thursday or Friday: Imran

KARACHI: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has said he will announce the date of the long march next Thursday or Friday.

Addressing a press conference with Senator Azam Swati in Islamabad on Saturday, he said his party wants snap polls in the country to end prevailing uncertainty in the country. “But I am sure that the incumbent rulers will not announce the election early”, he added. Admitting the PTI talks with the ruling Janata, Imran Khan said there is a role of the backdoor channel in democracy, but he did not see any result of backdoor talks.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman said that the rulers are trying to destroy PTI since the day they came into power. “Together they propagated against me, when the people came out, they started getting scared”, he hinted, adding that the whole nation knows them, when hard times come on the nation, they run abroad.

He alleged that the ruling Janata are not democratic people rather they are mafia. The PTI Chairman said that the Election Commission had chosen weak constituencies in the by-election. “The Karachi election was rigged in front of the nation but the election commission did nothing, he lamented.

Criticizing the torture on Azam Swati, Indian spies are treated like this torture. “I never saw what is happening in the democratic era, I reacted after seeing the torture on Shahbaz Gul as he was sexually assaulted”, he said, adding that Judiciary did not take Sumoto on custodial torture, if Judiciary took Sumoto at that time, Azam Swati would not have been tortured.
