SHIKARPUR: A man was killed and another injured in an armed clash between two groups of Shar and Banglani communities near Raees Wah within the jurisdiction of New Faujdari police station here on Friday.
According to rescue sources, a man, Meer Muhammad Banglani, aged 55, son of Chakar Khan Banglani, was killed on the spot while his relative Rasool Bux Banglani received serious bullet injuries in the firing when a dispute developed between the Banglani and Shar communities on the ownership of agricultural land.
The villagers on self-help basis shifted the body and injured Civil Hospital Shikarpur for medico-legal formalities and treatment. The relatives of the deceased and injured had a demonstration and blocked Shikarpur-Jacobabad road for hours and demanded for early arrest of the culprits involved in the incident.
The road was reopened for vehicular traffic on the assurance of arresting the culprits by police, while area police arrested eight suspects and started the investigation. No FIR was registered till late evening.
