Many arrested after doctors stage protest in Quetta

QUETTA:A group of doctors and paramedics took to the streets here on Monday demanding personal protection equipments to combat Covid-19. However, the police dispersed their protest and arrested dozens of them.

The rally organized by Young Doctors Association started from Sandeman Provincial Hospital. However, district administration closed all roads leading to Chief Minister’s Secretariat to stop the protesting doctors and paramedics from staging a sit-in in front of Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Police resorted to baton charge to disperse doctors and paramedics. Dozens of doctors and paramedics including Yasir Achakzai, President Young Doctors Association, Hanif Luni, General Secretary and Jamal Shah leader of Paramedics were arrested.

Spokesman of Young Doctors Association said the government of Jam Kamal Khan has failed to provide proper facilities to the doctors and paramedics.
