Mayor Karachi inaugurates storm water drains in Allahwala Town Korangi

Karachi, May 02, 2019 (PPI-OT): Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said Sindh Government wasted the Rs8billion of Octroi tax of Karachi Citizens in the name of mega projects. This was KMC amount which was stopped and given to contractors for taking commission. These project were built without any planning or standard which were not the urgent need of the city. He said this while talking to media representatives after the inauguration of storm water drain and other project in Allahwala Town Korangi on Tuesday evening.

Mayor Karachi said that the government could provide some convenience to citizens had it used this Rs8billion amount on public transport or completion of water and sewerage projects or disposal of garbage in the city but due to wrong intentions and other motives this money was wasted on such works for which the people will not forgive the government. He said they now demanding KMC hospitals, but we can not hand over these hospitals to these people.

He said I would advice Murtaza Wahab to keep away from these corrupt people. Mayor Karachi said KMC despite of not having resources and powers utilizing all resources on the provision of better infrastructure to citizens. In this area storm water drains were constructed with the coordination of Jamiat Saudagran. Saleem Farooqui, Saeed Ahmed Presswala and Shamim Firpu and MPA Ghulam Jilani were also present on this occasion.
