KARACHI:,,, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Thursday performed opening ceremony of the construction and expansion project of road from Razzaqabad to Sheedi Goth Power House on Thursday

Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad, Mayor Karachi Spokesperson for Political Affairs Karamullah Waqasi, former Member of National Assembly Jam Abdul Karim Jokhio, Chairman Gadap Town Tariq Aziz Baloch and other leaders and activists were also present on this occasion.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Mr Wahab said that the construction and expansion of the road from Razzaqabad to Sheedi Goth Power House would provide travel facilities to the residents, as a sum of Rs307 million had been spent on the 6.2km road and it had been connected with the link road of Super Highway and National Highway.

He said that Pakistan People's Party wanted to develop the urban and rural areas alike, as it did not believe in the politics of discrimination and prejudice. He said that the PPP was completing development projects in all districts of Karachi.

The Karachi mayor said: "If the infrastructure of Karachi is better, the city will develop. Uplift work has also been carried out in Jatoi Sahib's UC in the area, as a fifty thousand square feet of pavement work has been done. A huge star ground has been inaugurated in Sherpao Colony recently."

He informed taht the development work was also in progress on Shershah Road while Malir Kala Board Road would also be inaugurated soon. The construction work of two grounds and four parks were also going on in Malir, adding it had also been decided to build the second road of Machli Chowk which would will benefit the fishermen.

Mr Wahab added that the work on Baloch Colony Expressway had also been started while work on Malir Expressway was also going on fast. He said that water shortage problems were also being ressolved, as they had computerized the system of hydrants in Karachi, while suction and jetting machines had been handed over to the Water Corporation to improve drainage system in the city.
