PESHAWAR: A very fruitful meeting in connection with the on-going periodical revision of electoral rolls was held on Saturday in the office of District Election Commissioner (DEC) Peshawar.

All Tehsil Chairmen of district Peshawar attended the meeting. They were urged to create awareness among public through members of their respective councils. It was decided that each Tehsil Chairman will call a meeting on the one-point agenda of sensitizing their local councilors to push/convince the people to visit their nearest display centers so that the remaining inherent errors in the Electoral Rolls may be rectified.

Furthermore, a list of Display Centres was also shared with them. The Chairmen of all Tehsils showed great interest and praised the Election Commission for calling such a meeting and involving them as/being prime stakeholders to play their part in making error-free electoral rolls.

The Chairmen Tehsil councils explicated that it’s in their collective interest to have errors-free Electoral Rolls. The Chairmen Tehsil councils also requested to send representatives of ECP to participate in the monthly meeting of their council on Monday in order to convey the same message to all the local representatives.
