Mehar police accused of ‘half-frying’ youth

LARKANA: Police allegedly ‘half-fried a young 23-year Sadam Malah, a resident of village Sattar Dino Machi, located near Mehar, over his refusal to pay illegal gratification. He was shifted to the Emergency Department of the Chandka Medical College Hospital for treatment on Monday.

Sadam Malah told newsmen that he was arrested five days ago by Mehar police station SHO Nadim Solangi from his village Sattar Dino Machi and kept at an unknown place. He further alleged that after severe torture, he was ‘half-friend’ by firing shots in his both legs near Gaji Khuhawar due to which he had become disabled for life.

He alleged after arrest, he was asked to pay Rs200,000 by the SHO as illegal gratification but on his refusal, SHO Solangi became very infuriated and ‘half-friend’ him. The injured person demanded transparent investigation into the incident and stern action against the SHO. On the other hand, when cops posted at the ward were asked to comment, they refused to offer comments saying that their higher police officers were well aware of everything and they could not comment about the incident.
