Minister: (Narcotics Control Minister advises Prosecutors to expedite process of all pending cases)

ISLAMABAD:Muhammad Azam Khan Swati, Federal Minister for Narcotics Control chaired a meeting of Special Prosecutors and Legal Team of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) here at the Ministry of Narcotics Control on Thursday.

The Special Prosecutors and Legal Team of the ANF briefed the Minister in detail about the pending and ongoing cases of ANF in CNS courts, high courts and Supreme Court.

The Minister discussed the procedure of expediting the cases pending in different courts with Special Prosecutors and Legal Team of the ANF. The Minister advised the Special Prosecutors and Legal Team to expedite the process of all pending cases and a time line may be prepared for all pending cases.

The Ministry of Narcotics Control will provide full support and assistance to the Special Prosecutors and Legal Team of ANF, the Minister said. He also discussed online trials of court cases with the special prosecutors and legal team and directed the Ministry of Narcotics Control to prepare a plan about the online trials of court cases.

The Minister said that ultimately, we are working for the welfare of the people and country and we must utilize all resources to control, eradicate and dismantle the scourge of narcotic drugs.
