Minister Urges Strict Axle Load Compliance to Safeguard Roads and Cut Costs

Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan today underscored that strict adherence to axle load regulations is not only a legal requirement but also a strategic financial benefit for transporters, essential for preserving the nation’s road network.

The minister’s remarks came during a meeting in Islamabad today with a delegation from the All Pakistan Goods Transport Association (APGTA), led by its Chairperson, Chaudhry Qamar Zaman Gill.

During the discussion, which covered various issues pertaining to the transport sector, Mr Khan elaborated that observing the mandated weight limits significantly reduces vehicle wear and tear.

He stressed that this compliance consequently minimises maintenance costs for operators and is vital for the preservation of the country’s road infrastructure.

The Minister urged the goods transporters association to assume a proactive role in convincing all stakeholders of the critical importance of adhering to the axle load rules.
