Mirpurkhas administration cracks down on illegal LPG businesses in densely populated areas

The Mirpurkhas administration has launched a major crackdown on illegal Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) shops established in residential areas, sealing numerous violating businesses to mitigate risks to public life and property.

The joint operation, conducted on Tuesday and led by Assistant Commissioner Ghulam Hussain Kanyo and the Deputy Controller of Civil Defense, specifically targeted workshops and shops that were illegally refilling gas in vehicles and operating as makeshift filling stations, in clear violation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) regulations.

Assistant Commissioner Ghulam Hussain Kanyo confirmed that the crackdown was initiated after a multi-day public awareness campaign conducted via loudspeakers. “Today, action has been taken against those shops that were operating as illegal filling stations in violation of OGRA rules,” he said, stressing that such operations will now be conducted on a daily basis.

The Deputy Controller of Civil Defense, along with his team, conducted detailed inspections of the shops during the raids. Any establishment found in violation of the law was immediately sealed on the spot by the authorities.

The city administration has reiterated its commitment that the campaign against all illegal LPG points will continue indefinitely. The authorities reiterated their resolve, stating that no individual or entity will be allowed to endanger the safety and assets of the citizens.
