MITHI:Various areas of Mithi received rain on Saturday for the third consecutive day, making happiness to the people of this arid zone of Sindh.
The areas of Islamkot, Diplo, Mithi, Chhachhro also received light showers coupled with thunderstorms. Mithi town after the gruelling hot and humid weather received heavy showers due to which low-lying areas were inundated by the rainwater. The reports said that some areas received heavy downpour due to which rainwater stored in accumulated in the shallow ponds locally called Tarais.
The people after the showers came on the top of the sandy dunes to celebrate the rainfall of the season. The farmers in some areas with some good showers started to prepare their lands for their cultivation of their traditional crops in the hopes of more rains during the current spell and incoming weeks and months of the current early monsoon.
