KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast on Thursday that during the next 24 hours, more rain-wind-thundershower is expected in lower Sindh, Balochistan, Kashmir, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the last 24 hours, rain-wind-thundershower occurred in Sindh, south Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Isolated heavy falls also occurred during this period.

PMD also informed that monsoon currents are continuously penetrating in the country and may strengthen in the country during the weekend on 09th and 10th July. Under the influence of this weather system, heavy falls may generate urban flooding in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala and Sialkot

Flash flooding is also expected in local Nullahs of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Kashmir, Bolan, Kalat, Khuzdar and Lasbella during the forecast period.

Rainfall may trigger landslides in Kashmir, Galiyat, Murree, Chillas, Diamir, Gilgit, Hunza, Astore and Skardu. Travelers and tourists are advised to remain extra cautious during the forecast period.

During the last 24 hours, rainfall (in milimeters) recorded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Malam Jabba 35, Saidu Sharif 24, Dir (Upper) 05, Balakot 01, Balochistan: Pasni 34, Khuzdar 19, Zhob 12, Gwadar 10, Jiwani 07, Labella 05, Turbat 04 , Ormara 03, Panjgur, Sibbi 02, Quetta (Samungali 01), Gilgit-Baltistan: Babusar 09, Punjab: Khanpur 03, Rahim Yar Khan and Kot Addu 02.
